Sometimes you need to show all categories, sections, sub-sections, and articles of your Help Center, but it can not be done with the default Zendesk Guide.

You can use our extension Side Navigation for that! The menu is displayed perfectly both on full screen and portable devices. It makes the navigation of your Help Center even easier and more effortless.

Side Navigation uses Zendesk API to pull all categories, sections, sub-sections, and articles of your Help Center and automatically creates a list of collapsible items. If you add articles, sections, or change the structure of your Help Center in any other way, all the changes will be automatically made in the Navigator as well.

By default, we add the Side Navigation to the article page. As part of additional customization, the navigation can show different information on different pages. For example, it can show the full structure on an article page and categories list on a category page. 

This extension caches the results to prevent the API request limit.

Can it display different content on different pages?

Yes, it can show different content on different pages types (home/categories/sections/articles). By default, we add the Side Navigation to the article page. As part of an additional customization, we can add it to other pages.

Does it support the Zendesk multilingual feature?

Yes, the navigation works excellent with the Zendesk multilingual feature, it shows content translated to the user’s chosen language.

Will the user see articles in the navigation to which he doesn’t have access?

Side Navigation takes into account visibility settings. Users will only see articles they have access to.

Does Side Navigation support subsections?

Yes, it does.

Is it compatible with other Zendesk themes?

It is compatible with all themes. However, if you don't use one of our themes, extra costs are involved because it takes time to understand the code and install extensions. For example, some blocks in the code will have to be transferred, changed, etc.

Layouts in our themes already take into account the extension features and make the process faster and easier.

What are the next steps after the purchase?
